Product Description
The Lockheed® P-38 LIGHTNING® is a fast and heavily armed American long-range fighter aircraft from World War II. This unusual twin-engine aircraft had a gondola with a cockpit located between the two fuselages. The so-called "flying frame" provided very good performance, which translated into a long production period lasting from 1941 to 1945 and excellent numbers of shootdowns by American pilots. The aircraft was withdrawn from service only in 1965.
Accurately reproduced in a 1:32 model scale, the aircraft consists of 545 COBI construction blocks. The model is covered with high-quality prints that do not wear off even during intensive use. It is worth paying attention to the characteristic markings and emblems referring to the historical machine bearing the number 208 and the symbol of the dog Pluto. The aircraft has rotating propellers, folding landing gear, movable ailerons and an opening cabin in which you can place a well-designed pilot figure. The whole set is complemented by a brick with the name of the set and the Lockheed Martin logo printed on it.
This famous plane is the perfect gift idea for fans of aviation, history and technology. It will certainly satisfy even fastidious collectors and young people fascinated by bricks. Build history, block by brick together with COBI!
